gReader is built so that your reading stays yours. The app needs no account, we do not store usernames or passwords, and your subscriptions and articles live on your device.
Who we are
This website and the gReader News app are operated by Laravel Company, 7 High Street, Basildon, Essex SS14 1AB, United Kingdom. You can reach us at info@laravelcompany.com. Laravel Company is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
What the app stores
The gReader News app works without an account. Your feed subscriptions, downloaded articles, reading state and settings are stored locally on your device. We do not run a server that receives or keeps this data, so we cannot see what you read, subscribe to or star.
Because there is no account, we do not collect or store usernames or passwords for the app.
When the app fetches a feed you asked for, your device contacts the publisher's server directly. That publisher will see a request from your device, as with any RSS client.
What this website collects
We do not run our own analytics on this website and we do not ask you to create an account here. If you contact us by email we keep the correspondence so we can answer you and follow up when needed.
Advertising on this website
We use Google AdSense to show ads on this website. Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads, measure how they perform and, where you consent, personalise them based on your visits to this and other sites. Google's use of this information is described in Google's advertising privacy page and privacy policy.
You can control personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings and opt out of many third-party advertising cookies at aboutads.info/choices. Visitors from the UK and EEA are shown a consent message and can choose non-personalised ads. Our cookie policy lists the cookies involved and how to manage them.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your reading list, your articles, your location, your contacts or your device files. We do not sell personal data to anyone.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time. Because the app stores everything locally, most of these rights are exercised simply by deleting the app or its data on your device. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in the UK.
Data retention and security
Email correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle your request. App data stays on your device until you delete it. Google processes advertising data according to its own retention policies, which may involve transfers outside the UK and EEA covered by Google's safeguards.
Children
The app and this website are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update this page and the date above. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
